Rodney Tucker, MD MMM

Dr. Rodney Tucker is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He earned his B.S. and M.D. at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and completed residency in Internal Medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center.  He also completed a Master’s degree in Medical Management at the University of Southern California.  Dr. Tucker is a faculty member in the Heersink School of Medicine at UAB for 25 years and is currently in the Division of Geriatrics, Gerontology, and Palliative Care.  He is the Director of the Center for Palliative and Supportive Care which is one of the top three centers in the country.  Additionally he practices internal medicine at the Magic City Wellness Center through Birmingham AIDS Outreach and is the medical consultant for New Circle working with the interdisciplinary team on the medical care plans for our clients.  Dr. Tucker is also on the Faculty Senate at UAB and serves as the LGBTQ Faculty Association Chair. Dr. Tucker is dedicated to providing holistic affirming care in all settings. 

In his spare time he enjoys traveling, collecting art and antiques, celebrating Birmingham history living both on Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham and also on a country exotic farm with his husband of 39 years.
