Macros vs Types



Prepare for an epic battle. While Types have been used in Scala for a decade, for as long as Scala has existed, the introduction of Macros has created disputes on which is the more efficient way to write code. Eugene Burmako and Lars Hupel, PhD Students at EPFL and TU Munich, respectively, spoke at NE Scala to settle the debate once and for all, comparing type-level and macro-based approaches to figure out how they can work together for mutual benefit.
